As we know, everything’s bigger in Texas — and that includes the views. Throughout the Lone Star State, there are any number of road trip destinations that make for a scenic drive. These are three of the best scenic drives in Texas that you should consider taking.
If you’re craving some alone time, you will be able to find it if you take a drive on Highway 180 between Carlsbad and El Paso. Known as the Lonesome Highway due to its deserted feel, this stretch of road will take you through the beauty of the Guadalupe Mountains. Just make sure you have ample gas — there are very few places to stop to fill up.
Drive past the Palo Duro Canyon for some views that highlight the area’s natural beauty on Highway 207. This 200-mile loop is considered the second-largest canyon in the country after — you guessed it — the Grand Canyon. There are many places on the drive that will cause your jaw to drop, making it well worth the drive.
Willow City Loop
The Willow City Loop is the Texas Hill Country at its finest. This gorgeous drive is particularly beautiful during the spring, and also offers a range of hills and creeks for you to check out. It is a 13-mile stretch of highway that starts on State Route 16 just north of Fredericksburg, ending in Willow City.
Before you embark on your scenic drive, schedule a service appointment at Sherman Chevrolet in Sherman, Texas.
